FAQs

What is your role?

Managing Director Sanjay Kachhela has over 25 years’ experience working with high net worth individuals, companies and owner managers. His expertise means that he is able to get up to speed quickly with the situation presented and to add value immediately.

What is your background?

Sanjay has worked for the UK’s top accountancy firms, including Grant Thornton, KPMG and RSM Tenon. Over the course of his work it became obvious that there was a real need for affordable high level tax planning, which is why he decided to establish Strategic Tax.

What are your fees / what is in it for you?

We do not charge a fee for meetings. We know that by providing you with access to the right planning and structures, we are potentially able to save you significant amounts of money in tax; only then will we take a fee, which will be proportional to the amount saved. Our meetings are no obligation.

We believe in fairness. If you choose to go ahead with the tax planning proposed, we do not charge set fees, but deal with each case individually. We will agree all charges with you upfront with nothing hidden.

Are you FSA regulated?

No. We are not Financial Advisors. We do, however, work alongside accountants and IFAs. Our niche expertise in tax planning makes us uniquely positioned to add value to your existing advisors. For example, we are able to provide your accountants and IFAs with access to tax planning strategies and structures vetted and approved by ourselves first. If at this stage you choose to go ahead with the strategy through your financial advisors, we are happy to accommodate that.

Which accountancy firms do you work with?

We work with a wide range of accountancy firms, from individuals to top national organisations, including 4 of the top 50 firms in the UK.

Can I involve my accountant / advisors?

Absolutely; in fact we encourage it. Our business has grown by working with the best accountants and advisors in the market.

Can you speak to my accountant on my behalf?

Yes.

Are your tax structures EFURBS / EBTS based?

Based on current HMRC views and client experiences we have not found EFURBS / EBTS (Trust-based) planning to be the right strategy in many cases. This kind of planning can bind future generations into long-term arrangements. Instead we offer year-on-year planning, which gives you the freedom to adapt your strategy annually in line with constantly changing legislation and market developments.

What’s the entry level / the minimum I need to invest?

This very much depends on your tax exposure. For example, we can provide profit extraction solutions for businesses with profits from £150,000 per year.
